Superpatriot Can O Whupass by DexterVines Superpatriot Can O Whupass by DexterVines
I'm still digging in the vault and pulled this bad boy out. Next to Joe Phillips, Dave Johnson help me ALOT when I got into comics. This is a page from Superpatriot 4 pg8 by Dave and myself. I remember Dave's challenge to me was not to have to use any type of whiteout for these pages and to this day I rarely have to because of that challenge, thx Dave! After I finished the inks Dave went in and added the zip and and all the cross hatching which I couldn't do at the time. LOL now I do it in my sleep! Good times up in Dave's old studio barn!

It is amazing what you and other inkers can do... So much respect for you guys, You make pencilers look 10x better, You bring the pictures from drafts to works of art. I have been a fan of yours for some time now, I am just starting down the path to become a regular in this industry... The day I can say I arrived, Is the day my work is graced with your talent.

Hope to meet you one day on a profesional level, I still have a few years to work up. And thank you for posting stuff that hints that you didnt come from the hevans into the industry, That it took friends and mentors to help you along. Its pure motivation for those working our way in.

Certain books you ALWAYS have near you for inspiration. For me, THIS is one of those books. Thank you Mr. Vines, and thank Dave too when you see him!
